“When trying to lose weight, tone up, build muscle or merely embark on an all-round healthier lifestyle, the first thing we all do is think of a goal. Whether we have a certain weight or body-shape in mind or quite simply want to squeeze back into our denim shorts in time for the Summer holidays, we create a picture in our minds of how the fit, fun and fabulous new us is going to look and feel, and believe they will be so much better than our present selves that we will do absolutely anything to make this glorious vision a reality. So as soon as we have our goal, then comes the part where we evaluate our chances of success, as we stand on the starting line peering into the distance in hope the Finish flag isn‘t too far away… but inevitably it will be. Cue a sudden wave of disappointment and feeling so daunted by the journey ahead that it may even be enough to make us throw in the towel before we’ve even begun! Our strength is being tested already… so starting a new fitness regime by tip-toeing onto the scales every five minutes or taking a long hard look in the mirror to work out exactly just how “urgh!” we are isn’t advised! So to avoid one confidence-knock after another, we suggest the following…”
